Karen White’s emotional narration brings out the vulnerability and passion behind a divorce lawyer’s facade of untouchability. In spite of her jaded view on relationships, Victoria Spade finds herself falling for neighbor Ford Dixon when they join forces to track down the father of Dixon’s sister’s baby. White effectively sets up Spade’s cool, tough exterior with crisp speech that falters when Spade battles her anxiety attacks. As Dixon, White depicts a sensitive stud who’s playful yet has a serious side. White’s tone and range of voices effectively capture each character’s personality and create a dynamic flow.
